Born Oct. 19, 1920 in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of Alvey and Fern Barbre Yeaman, she married Guido Chiola in 1938; he died in 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Lester, Lawrence, Leon, Carl and Billy; four sisters, Ruth Geist, Carrie Cunningham, Sharon Carver, Opal Yocom; and a son-in-law, Reginald Davis.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, ABWA, and Rockettes of Ages. She was an original volunteer at Holy Family Food Pantry and a lay associate of the Franciscan Sisters. She opened the Jus-Lik-Nu Shop in 1961 as well as founded and operated Faye’s Catering for 19 years. She was named Ms. Senior Illinois of 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Davis and Kathy Pearson (husband, Dr. Donald H.) both of Springfield; three sons, Father Richard Chiola, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Springfield, Judge Thomas Chiola of Chicago and Sgt. James Chiola (wife, Joan) of Peoria; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Dixon (husband, Bob) and Peggy McLaughlin (husband, George), both of Springfield; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral Mass was to be held Dec. 18 at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
