Fifth annual men’s breakfast to be held March 13

WOOD RIVER — Holy Angels Parish will host the fifth annual Men’s Catholic Breakfast Saturday, March 13, beginning with Mass at 8 a.m. at the parish church, 345 E. Acton. Breakfast and a program will follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Bethalto Knights of Columbus Hall, 400 N. Beau Chateaux in Bethalto. The morning will end with the recitation of the rosary at 11:15 a.m.

The program will be on “Fathers for the 21st Century,” and the featured guest speaker will be clinical psychologist, author, speaker and radio host Ray Guarendi. Guarendi is the father of 10 children and has experience in school districts, Head Start programs, mental health centers, substance abuse programs, inpatient psychiatric centers, juvenile courts and a private practice. He has written several books, including You’re a Better Parent Than You Think!, Back to the Family, and his newest book,Good Discipline, Great Teens.

Father Mark Schulte, pastor of St. Aloysius Parish in Springfield, will also be a speaker and Dan Gray will be master of ceremonies.
