Farris has been involved in SHG musicals, served as a member of O.P. Teens and Springfield’s Diocesan Choir. She is a member and officer of the Encore choir, received consecutive superiors at IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest and was chosen for the 2009 and 2010 IMEA District Honors Choirs. She is a voice student of Karen Danner.
Her recital will include Handel’s Come Unto Him, Caccini’s Ave Maria and Copland’s At the River.
SHG junior Steven Grigsby will perform his Silver Cross Recital in Voice May 15 at 6 p.m. in Dominican Hall Auditorium, 1200 W. Washington St., Springfield. He is the son of America Grigsby of Springfield and the late Robert Grigsby. The recital is free and open to the public.
Grigsby has been active in jazz band, Christ the King choirs, the Encore choir, SHG musicals and is a member of the Springfield Youth Symphony. He is a student of Karen Danner.
His recital will include Beethoven’s May Song, Franck’s Panis Angelicus, and Purcell’s I Attempt From Love’s Sickness To Fly.
