Michael Hoerner, webmaster for the diocese, said the live streaming of the installation liturgy was visited by 800 unique locations and at least 3,100 viewer hits.
“We had visitors from 35 states in the U.S. and at least four other countries, including Canada, United Kingdom, Egypt and Germany watching the live-streaming,” Hoerner said. “In addition, more than 260 followed all or parts of the live blog. In less than 24 hours, just under 400 visited the archived live blog after the installation was over.”
Video of both June 21 Evening Prayer and the June 22 installation will remain available on the diocesan website, as will the blog. Just go to www.dio.org/reception.
In addition, the installation liturgy will be re-broadcast on cable outlets EWTN and Catholic TV. Watch local television listings for dates and times.
Web coverage of the events was coordinated by Hoerner; Dan Gauwitz, associate director for Information Technology; and Kathie Sass, director of the Office for Communications. Technical assistance was provided by Beatty Televisual of Springfield and EWTN.
