Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will be the main celebrant of the Mass, celebrated on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady, at St. Francis Chapel. He will be joined by other bishops and priests.
The novices who will make their first profession are Sister Mary Benedict Reischl, daughter of Robert and Lori Reischl of West Salem, Wis.; Sister M. Chiara Sondag, daughter of Robert and Susan Sondag of Hastings, Neb.; Sister Mariela Stodden, daughter of Frank and DeDe Stodden of Kansas City, Mo.; and Sister Marysia Krystosek, daughter of Alois and Susan Krystosek of Royalton, Minn.
The postulants who will be received into the novitiate and receive their new religious names are Stephanie Gantt (Sister M. Lucy), daughter of Douglas and Valerie Gantt of West Richland, Wash.; Katie Baumgarten (Sister Karol Marie), daughter Judith Baumgarten of Spencer, Wis., and the late Peter Baumgarten; and Monica McKenzie (Sister Cordia Marie), daughter of William and Theresa McKenzie of St. Louis.
A reception for the sisters will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at St. Francis Day Care Center, 710 College Avenue, Alton.
