Springfield Diocese Chapter K. of C. to induct new Hall of Fame members

The Springfield Diocese Chapter of the Knights of Columbus will hold its 27th annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet Saturday, Oct. 23.

The ceremony will begin with Mass at 4 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, 216 E. Tremont St. in Hillsboro, with Bishop Thomas John Paprocki presiding and Father James Neuman concelebrating. A social hour will be held after Mass at the Hillsboro 4608 K. of C. banquet hall, 11198 Illinois Route 185, followed by the banquet at 6 p.m.

This year’s inductees will be: Jeff Boyer of Springfield, Council 364; Raymond Meyer of Dorsey, Bethalto Council 4688; Frank Jorn of Hillsboro, Council 4608; Ronald Reinhart of Quincy, Council 583; Robert Walker of Watson, Effingham Council 665; Robert P. Lammert of Edwardsville, Council 1143; Father August J. Sperl of Springfield, Virden Council 2321; and Msgr. John Ossola of Springfield, Chatham Council 4179.

Over 135 men have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since its inception in 1984.

Tickets for the event are $17.50 each and ticket orders should be sent to: K. of C. Council 4608, c/o Chairman Charles Peterson, 11198 Illinois Route 185, Taylor Springs, IL 62089.

The mission of the Springfield Diocese K. of C. Chapter is to support seminarians with prayers and financial help; promote the annual Hall of Fame induction of men of the order qualified by their exemplary efforts for church, councils, communities and family participation; meet the prescribed goals of the state and supreme councils.
