EFFINGHAM — Catholic Charities of Effingham will roll out the red carpet for its annual benefit, “Lights, Camera, Action,” Feb. 5 at the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Hall.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m., when guests will be welcomed by local celebrities wearing black, white, gold or silver. Raffle tickets for local celebrity baskets will be available for that night only. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by announcement of the winner of the 2011 Vineyard Award at 8 p.m. Dancing from 9-11:30 p.m. will be to the music of Anatime Entertainment.
Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the Effingham Catholic Charities office, located on U.S. Route 40 East between Effingham and Teutopolis. Tickets are also available through any Catholic Charities’ advisory board member.
Angels, or contributors who wish to be recognized in the program, can donate at various levels. At the Seraphim level ($1,500), donors will receive eight tickets and a reserved table; at the Cherubim level ($1,000) donors will receive six tickets; at the Archangel level ($500), four tickets; at the Guardian Angel level ($200), two tickets; at the Angel level ($40) one ticket and no recognition in the program.
Catholic Charities in Effingham provides professional, community-based services to residents in Clark, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper and Shelby counties. The Effingham area office, accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services, operates programs without regard to age, race, income, gender or religion. Annually, the office serves thousands of individuals in need through adoption, counseling, crisis assistance, school counseling, crisis pregnancy services, food pantry, foster care, prescription assistance, referral services, Second Hand Rose Resale Shoppe and Ramblin’ Rose II businesses. Just last year Catholic Charities served over 75,000 people.
Catholic Charities is a member of Catholic Charities USA which is ranked by The Non-Profit Times as the second largest among the nation’s non-profit organizations. On average, 90 cents of every dollar of unrestricted donations is invested by Catholic Charities directly in programs and services.
