Catholic women’s breakfast to be held March 26

ALTON — St. Mary Parish will host the third annual Catholic Women's Breakfast on Saturday, March 26, beginning with Mass at 8 a.m. at the church, 519 East Fourth Street. Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will preside.

A catered breakfast will follow, along with a talk by nationally known speaker, Patty Schneier.

Schneier is a life-long Catholic, housewife and mother of three from the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She and her husband, Larry, are active members in their parish, where she cantors for Sunday Mass. Since October 2003, Schneier has been speaking at parishes and Catholic conferences across the United States, sharing her personal testimony, which she calls '''Prove It, God!'... And He Did." Using song, Scripture and writings from her journal, she shares the story of her challenge to God and his daily response. The results, she says, were life changing.

At the Catholic Women's Breakfast, Schneier will give a talk titled "One Step Away: No one wants to talk about it." She will share the true story of her own experiences when she suddenly found herself "one step away" from eternity. Grateful to be alive, she will talk candidly about suffering, pain, surrender and faith.

The event will conclude at noon.

Cost is $15 per person and pre-registration is required. Registration forms may be downloaded at stmarysalton.com. Mail registration form and fee by March 17.
