Each high school office and parish office in the diocese has been sent application information. Young women interested in applying should contact their high school principal or counseling office or their parish office for forms. Required information includes a cover sheet with the applicant's full name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, name of parent or guardian, high school (name, address, and phone number), date of graduation, class rank and grade point average, home parish and list of extra-curricular activities. A resume of no more than two pages should show how the applicant has provided leadership in her (1) community, (2) parish and (3) school. At least one letter of recommendation from an individual who is well acquainted with the applicant through community, educational, or religious affiliations is required.

Completed cover sheet, resume and letter(s) of recommendation must be postmarked no later than April 1. The DCCW will select four scholarship winners, who will be notified by May 1. Winners and their families will be honored guests at the DCCW Convention in Effingham, Sept. 28.

DCCW has been active in promoting the Catholic faith through service and leadership within the deanery and parish Councils of Catholic Women since 1927. The diocesan council is composed of representatives from the Springfield deaneries of Alton, Decatur, Effingham, Litchfield, Jacksonville, Quincy and Springfield. This will be the 11th year the DCCW has given the leadership scholarships
