Sharon Hengehold of Edwardsville was installed as state regent for the Daughters of Isabella Illinois State Circle at the April 1-2 state convention at Rend Lake Resort in Whittington.
Father Jeffrey Goeckner, pastor of St. Boniface Parish in Edwardsville was named state chaplain.
Other new officers include Pam Waldschmidt of Henry, state vice regent; Joan Dittmer of Pontiac, state secretary; and Stephanie Klingelsmith of Herrin, state treasurer. All were installed by international past regent Elaine Leger of Bradenton, Fla.
The first circle of the Daughters of Isabella was founded in 1897 in New Haven, Conn. Today, over 60,000 women from the United States and Canada are members who encourage each other’s total development and foster growth of every aspect of life — spiritual, social and charitable.
The Illinois State Circle was chartered in 1929. Currently, Illinois has three circles in the Springfield diocese: O’Reilly Circle 218 of Edwardsville; Sacred Heart Circle 237 of Highland and Bishop O’Connor Circle 831 of Wood River.
