Alton Franciscans will host afternoon with the sisters

ALTON — Men and women 18 years old and over are welcome to attend an "Afternoon with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George" from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the sisters' convent, 1 Franciscan Way.

The day will include Mass at 11:30 a.m., with Father Nnamdi Moneme, OMV, the main celebrant. Following Mass will be a homemade luncheon, with a welcome by Mother M. Regina Pacis, FSGM, and a video presentation during dessert.

Between 2 and 3:30 p.m., participants can attend talks on the history and charism of the sisters, vocation stories, and on "Mary, Our Mother." At 3:30 p.m. the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will arrive.

At 3:45, tours will be available of the convent, St. Francis Day Care and Saint Anthony's Health Center. Prayer hour, including the rosary, will begin at 5 p.m. before the Blessed Sacrament and the missionary image. Dismissal will be at 6 p.m.
