Brother Jason Nesbit, CSV, a native of Granite City, was ordained to the priesthood at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Maternity BVM Church in Bourbonnais by Chicago Auxiliary Bishop George Rassas. He celebrated his first Mass of thanksgiving there at 11 a.m. the next morning, June 5.
On June 19, Father Nesbit will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving at his home parish of Holy Family in Granite City.
As a Viatorian brother, Father Nesbit served in various ministry capacities at St. Viator Parish in Chicago, St. Francis Xavier in Corozal, Belize, and served as a deacon at Maternity BVM in Bourbonnais. He earned his master’s degree in divinity at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
Father Nesbit will remain at Maternity BVM Parish in Bourbonnais and serve as parochial vicar there.
