Catholic Daughters recognize service organizations with awards

In honor of its centennial, Catholic Daughters of the Americas' Court Madonna has chosen eight organizations to each receive a $100 contribution for its services at the local, state, or national level. The recipients include: Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach, Habitat for Humanity House #85, St. Martin de Porres Center, Springfield Right to Life, St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Covenant Network, Eternal Word Television Network/EWTN, and The Archdiocese for the Military Services USA.

At noon on Saturday, Oct. 15, on the east steps of the Illinois State Capitol, CDA members participated in the America Needs Fatima rosary recitation. On National CDA Sunday, Oct. 16, Court Madonna members attended the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Agnes Church in Springfield, followed by a reception in the parish hall.

The CDA regular monthly meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in the St. Agnes Parish Hall.

A state workshop for CDA members of downstate courts will be held at the St. Agnes Parish Hall on Saturday, Oct. 22.
