This year's event was hosted by Charleston Council 4024 and Eastern Illinois University Council 8713. The ceremony began with Mass in the chapel at the EIU Newman Center, with Father John Titus presiding. Dinner and the induction ceremony followed in the ballroom at the EIU campus. State Deputy Rich Spada was the principal speaker.
Members of the 2011 Hall of Fame class are: Father Vernon Olmer, OFM, of Teutopolis Council 2874 and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish there; Mike Drake of Charleston Council 4024 and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish; Roy Lanham of Newman Council 8713 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston; August C. Lohman of Collinsville Council 1712 and a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish there; Stephen Mann of Chatham Council 4179 and a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Springfield; Gerard "Gerry" Mattix-Wand, a member of Bethalto Council 4688 and a member of Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish there; William L. Miller of Mattoon Council 1057 and a member of Immaculate Conception Parish; and Tim Sullivan of Sherman Council 14024 and a member of St. John Vianney Parish.
Over 140 men have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since its inception in 1984.
The next Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Ceremony will be hosted by Jerseyville Council 1692 in October 2012. All councils are invited to submit nominations of deserving candidates to President Joseph Buscher, 509 East Grove, Effingham, IL 62401.
The mission of the Springfield Diocese K. of C. Chapter is to support seminarians with prayers and financial help; promote the annual Hall of Fame induction of men of the order qualified by their exemplary efforts for church, councils, communities and family participation; meet the prescribed goals of the state and supreme councils.
