That morning, Bishop Paprocki will offer a reflection on the Catholic principles of the legal profession, focusing on civil law. There will also be an opportunity for private reflection and celebrating the sacrament of reconciliation.
"This was Bishop's idea with the encouragement of a group of Catholic lawyers he had brought together," said Father Peter Harman, pastor of Cathedral Parish. "We are inviting legal professionals and all interested in the topic and we want as many as are interested to come."
Bishop Paprocki is a civil lawyer, graduating from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 1981. He is the founder and the president of the board of the Chicago Law Clinic, which serves underprivileged individuals. He is also a canon lawyer with a doctoral degree from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1991).
The cost for the conference, including lunch, is $25 per person. Father Harman asks that those who are interested in reserving a spot call the Cathedral at (217) 522-3342 by Feb. 15. Payment can be made at the door.
