DCCW to hold Lenten retreat for women

The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) will hold its annual Lenten retreat on Wednesday, March 21 and Thursday, March 22 at the Villa Maria Catholic Life Center on Lake Springfield. All women of the diocese are invited.

 

"Celebrating Church: God's Mosaic for the World" is the general topic, which will be presented by Dan Frachey.

Frachey is a full-time lay minister who has served as director of Christian Formation at the Church of St. Jude in Rochester for the past seven years. After almost 15 years as the supervisor of the St. John's Breadline and executive director for Habitat for Humanity — Sangamon County, he pursued his master's degree in pastoral studies at the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis along with a certificate in spiritual direction.

The retreat will include conferences, quiet time for prayer and reflection, celebration of the Eucharist, the sacrament of reconciliation, and time for fellowship with other Catholic women from the diocese.

Retreat registration and morning refreshments will be from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The day will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and will include breakfast, conferences with Frachey and conclude with celebration of the Eucharist.

Registration fee is $75 for overnight and $65 for commuters. The registration deadline is March 9. Registration forms are available from parish and deanery presidents, or on line from the DCCW website www.dccwspringfield.catholic web.com.
