The tournament is open to four-member teams or individual participants may be paired with a team; handicaps will not be used. The cost is $75 per player and includes greens fees, cart rental, food and beverages. Registration begins with a shotgun start at noon. Morning golf will be available to accommodate an excess of 25 teams. Hole sponsorships are $100 per sponsor. Top raffle prizes will be $500 cash.
The tournament is named after Austin Luckett, who died in 1999 after courageously fighting colon cancer for five years. This event carries on his spirit of helping others, say organizers. The money raised from the tournament is used to help those who come to ask for assistance with basic needs. During the past 12 years over $122,000 has been raised.
People who are interested in participating as golfers, hole sponsors, raffle prize donors or volunteers should contact Catholic Charities at (217) 857-1458.
