COLLINSVILLE — The women of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Collinsville are sponsoring their seventh annual Women's Day on Saturday, April 28. The day, which is open to women over age 16, is entitled "Lady in Blue, Teach Us to Pray" and will be held at the Collinsville K.C. Hall on Rt. 157.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes a continental breakfast and lunch and costs $25 per person. It will feature nationally known inspirational singer and speaker Donna Cori Gibson and Women's Basketball Hall of Famer and speaker Theresa Grentz. Shopping at booths of local vendors and attendance prize giveaways will take place throughout the day.

Gibson is a singer and songwriter of contemporary Catholic music. Originally from New York City and having worked in the secular music industry, she now dedicates her talent to helping people to pray, learn more about their faith and draw closer to God. Her music is heard on Catholic radio and television, and around the world through EWTN. She has eight CDs.

Grentz is well known in Illinois. She spent over 30 years as a head university women's basketball coach, including the final 12 seasons at the University of Illinois. She was also an Olympic head coach in Barcelona in 1992 and is now an inspirational speaker.
