Bishop Paprocki honored at K. of C. state convention

Bishop Thomas John Paprocki received the Illinois State Deputy Medallion from State Deputy Richard Spada at the 114th annual Knights of Columbus State Convention, held May 4-6 in Lombard. Bishop Paprocki also accepted a donation of $21,000 from the K. of C. Newman Fund for the Newman centers in the Springfield diocese.

Also at the convention, delegates marked the 100th birthday of Theo Knust, one of the oldest living members of the K. of C. in Illinois. Knust is a member of Father Fanning Council #4372 in New Berlin.

In addition, Earl Schroeder of Council #4175 in Springfield was named alternate delegate to the Knights of Columbus U.S. convention in Anaheim, Calif.

Also in attendance at the convention were Cardinal Francis George of Chicago and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph M. Siegel, state chaplain.
