"Our Journey of Faith" is the theme of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) Convention, which will be held Friday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. The theme for this year's gathering — the 84th annual convention — was chosen to coincide with Pope Benedict XVI's Year of Faith, which begins in October.
Convention speakers include Traci Matheu, and Robert Rogers. Matheu, who styles herself as "Catholic Mom," is a popular author and inspirational speaker who has dedicated her life to serving the church and the call of Our Lady. She is the author of A Survivor of the Lost Generation of Catholics. Her presentation will be on family concerns.
Rogers is an accomplished Catholic worship leader, pianist, songwriter, and author (Into the Deep: One man's story of how tragedy took his family but could not take his faith.) Through his lyrics and music he plays on the piano, Rogers teaches others to live a life of no regrets.
Joan Weber, Chicago providence director, will give a legislative update session at the convention. Vendors, displays and auctions will be held during the convention.
