She was born in St. Louis on Jan. 10, 1934, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Howard) Allemann. She married Richard S. Janoski on June 26, 1954; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2003.
Mrs. Janoski was a homemaker and an active member of her parishes, first at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and School in North St. Louis, then at St. John the Baptist Parish in South St. Louis. She was fondly known as "Big Momma" to her family because of her love of cooking and good food.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry. Surviving are four children: Cindy Janoski, Father Janoski, who is an instructor at Benedictine University in Springfield and chaplain there as well as at the University of Illinois-Springfield, Linda Peebles and Sharon Janoski; three grandchildren; four siblings, Rae Jeane Glaus, Roberta Smith, Bobby Janoski and Carl Janoski; many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 17 at St. John the Baptist Church, with Father Janoski and priests of the diocese concelebrating. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
