Young women interested in applying should contact their high school principal or guidance office, their parish office or www.dccwspringfield.catholicweb.com for application directions. In addition to the applicant's school and parish data, a resume is required showing how the senior has provided leadership in her community, parish and school. At least one letter of recommendation from an individual who is well acquainted with the applicant through community, educational, or religious affiliations is required.

Completed cover sheet, resume and letter(s) of recommendation must be postmarked no later than March 30. The DCCW will select four scholarship winners, who will be notified by May 1. Winners and their families will be honored guests at the DCCW convention in Alton on Oct. 8.

DCCW has been active in promoting the Catholic faith through service and leadership within the deanery and parish Councils of Catholic Women since 1927. The council is composed of representatives from the deaneries of Alton, Decatur, Effingham, Litchfield, Jacksonville, Quincy and Springfield. This will be the 13th year the DCCW has given the Leadership Scholarships.
