Sports enthusiasts urged to enter video contest

video-clapper-boardThe Office for Information Technology and the Office for Catechesis is sponsoring a video contest to go along with the release of Bishop Thomas John Paprocki's new book Holy Goals for Body and Soul. They are asking that contestants make a video about how lessons from sports have affected their lives.

The videos do not have to be professionally produced, says Michael Hoerner, webmaster. However, they must be uploaded to a video sharing site such as YouTube or Vimeo, or can be uploaded to a personal website.

The videos must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on April 14. On April 15, a panel of volunteers will begin reviewing the videos and select their top five. On April 22, voting on those five videos will be open to the public. That voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. on April 28. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 1.

One video will be chosen out of all those submitted and the winner will receive a personalized signed copy of Holy Goals for Body and Soul "and maybe a few other surprises," says Hoerner. For more information on the contest, go to www.dio.org/videocontest.
