Novices to profess vows, postulants to be received

Martyrs-St-George-vows-and-reception-coALTON — The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George will celebrate the profession of first vows of three novices and reception into the novitiate of four postulants during Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at St. Mary's Church, 519 E. Fourth St. Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will be the main celebrant and will be joined by other clergy.

The novices who will make their first profession are Sister Teresa Maria Leis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leis of Cashton, Wis.; Sister Mary Francis Goodson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Goodson of St. Louis; and Sister M. Caterina Vola, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Vola of Lake St. Louis, Mo.

The postulants who will be received into the novitiate and receive their new religious names are Katrina D. Delaney (Sister Maria Christi), daughter of Kathryn and the late Thomas A. Delaney of Buffalo, N.Y.; Sarah Marie Schulze (Sister M. Xavier), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Schulze of Anna, Okla.; Theresa A. Wilks (Sister M. Veritas), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wilks of Mechanicville, N.Y.; and Sarah Lynne Gangl (Sister M. Annuntiata), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Gangl of Brainerd, Minn.

A reception for the sisters will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Suddes Hall, next to St. Mary's Church.
