An interfaith prayer vigil for compassionate immigration reform will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Sacred Heart Convent's Aquinas Center, 1237 W. Monroe St. in Springfield. The prayer vigil, which will include participation from other faith traditions, is sponsored by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis, Ursuline Sisters and Dominican Sisters of Springfield.
All are welcome, organizers say, to "pray for immigration reform that reunites families and provides a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and to pray for our leaders in Congress to enact such reform."
