Church welcomes additional members during Easter Vigil

The Easter Vigil is the premier time each year for the making of Catholic adults through the celebration of the sacraments of Christian initiation. The following persons have been or soon will be, welcomed into the Catholic Church, in addition to those listed in the April 20 issue of Catholic Times.

In their own parishes, each of these individuals took part in the process of formation and training in the Christian life that is provided in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This process of training and formation in the Christian life is often more familiarly called the catechumenate or RCIA. The following persons completed the process in one of two ways. Catholics Completing Initiation (CCI) were baptized Roman Catholic in infancy, but were not raised in the faith. During this Easter Vigil, they completed the initiation cycle with confirmation and Eucharist. Christians who celebrate Full Communion (FC)  have come to the Catholic Church already baptized in another Christian community. They entered into the full communion of the Catholic Church by profession of faith and the sacraments of confirmation and Eucharist.
