St. Louise de Marillac donates to Springfield CC causes

The St. Louise de Marillac Ladies of Charity in Springfield recently gave a  gift of $5,000 to Catholic Charities at a June dinner meeting of the organization held at St. Agnes Church Parish Hall, Springfield.

Nancy King, president of St. Louise de Marillac, presented a check for $2,500 to Mark Buttell, area director, Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. The funds will be devoted to the St. Clare Children’s Clinic. Another check for $2,500 was presented to Cliff Shehorn, supervisor, Holy Family Food Pantry. The money for this gift was raised through monthly dinner meetings and donations to the pantry.

The mission of the St. Louise de Marillac Ladies of Charity is to foster the spiritual growth of its members by engaging in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy and to raise funds for Catholic Charities in Springfield.
