EDWARDSVILLE — St. Mary Parish this week will begin the new DVD minstry to men and women who have suffered from separation and divorce.

Deacon John Murphy will facilitate the 12-week program getting under way Sept. 10, and continued every Wednesday, except Nov. 26, through Dec. 3.

The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide features a 30-minute DVD each week that will cover topics such as shock, denial, anger, grief, forgiveness, money and the court system.

“We hope to bring awareness to those in need of this type of program and to encourage other parishes to run the program as well,” said Deacon Murphy. “We will be the first that I know of to run this series at the parish level.”

Each session will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and held at St. Mary’s Adult Education Room, 1802 Madison Ave., Edwardsville. For more information, contact Deacon Murphy at (618) 459-2101.
