With the holiday season fast approaching, it is once again time to begin thinking about families who might do without traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas meals. That is why the Holy Family Food Pantry plans on feeding a total of almost 800 families for the two holidays.
Holy Family has available complete lists of foods needed to fill one Thanksgiving or Christmas basket. Of course, any and all donations of food are very much appreciated.
Completed baskets can be dropped off at Holy Family Food Pantry's new location, 120 S. 11th St., at the southeast corner of 11th and Washington streets. Please bring your donations to the northwest door.
Completed Thanksgiving baskets can be dropped off from Nov. 3 through Nov. 20. Completed Christmas baskets can be dropped off from Dec. 1 through Dec. 19. Drop-off hours at the Holy Family Food Pantry are between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Those who need a complete list of items to fill a basket, or who might require other arrangements for drop-off should call Cliff Shehorn at (217) 523-2450 or the Crisis Office at (217) 523-4551.
