The Springfield Area Young Adult Mass (YAM) donated $600 from their charity fund to several pro-life organizations, in honor of Respect Life Month. Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield, Lifetime Pregnancy Help Center of Springfield, New Life Pregnancy Center of Decatur, and Loving Arms Crisis Pregnancy Center of Taylorville, each received $150 to help their mission.

"All of these organizations work so hard to protect innocent life," said Brad Baker, the YAM Board president. "As Catholics, we are called to help protect life from the moment of conception. We are happy to give these organizations a donation to help them provide support for mothers and save lives."

YAM raised money through their annual Charity Mini-Golf Tournament at Knights Action Park in September. The YAM Board then voted to give each of these organizations a $150 donation.

"It's a perfect time to give to all four of these pro-life organizations because it's Respect Life Month," said Baker. "We know they will put this money to good use through informational flyers, equipment for sonogram machines, displays that show a human being is created at conception, and counseling for mothers."

The YAM Charity Mini-Golf Tournament has raised more than $4,000 for local charities since it began five years ago.
