Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach will host its seventh Annual World's Fair on April 25. The event, featuring the cuisine of South America, begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and will be held at the organization's headquarters, 4930 LaVerna Road, Springfield. The World's Fair showcases the international work of Mission Outreach along with its midwest partners and those in 87 countries around the world.
"Mission Outreach is fortunate to work with 64 hospitals and 18 clinics to collect life-saving medical supplies and equipment that we provide to healthcare partners in developing nations," said Georgia Winson, executive director of Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach. "People are often surprised to learn that a warehouse in Springfield is the source of international aid valued at more than $49 million. The World's Fair is a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude for our donors and to celebrate the cultures and the people served through our ministry."
According to Outreach statistics, it has reduced landfill deposits by eight million pounds, redirecting high quality medical supplies and equipment for use in more than 530 medical missions in 87 countries.
