PEORIA — Sister Mary Lenore Highland, OSF, professed perpetual vows as a Sister of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception during a Mass on June 11 at the motherhouse chapel on Heading Avenue. She is the daughter of the late Elmer and Eleanore Highland of Chicago.
Sister Mary Lenore has a bachelor's degree in education, earned a master's degree in administration from Concordia University, a master's degree in health science administration from St. Francis University and is a licensed nursing home administrator. She has served as a teacher and a principal in the Chicago area and is currently the administrator of St. Joseph's Home of Springfield.
Sister Paula Vasquez, OSF, president of the congregation, received Sister Mary Lenore's vows in the name of the community. Abbot Philip Davey, OSB, celebrated the Mass.
