Covenant Network, an all-Catholic programming radio broadcasting system based in St. Louis, has added two new FM low-power repeater stations in the Springfield diocese. "We now have one in Martinsville and one in Pittsfield," said Tony Holman, president of the non-profit network that reaches listeners in the Springfield and Belleville dioceses and the St. Louis archdiocese.

Listeners can now hear Covenant radio programming at 92.1 FM in Pittsfield and 93.1 FM in Martinsville. Other areas that already have access to Covenant Network stations are Edwardsville, Taylorville, Carlinville, Beardstown, Williamsville and Springfield.

"We are listener supported. We started in Edwardsville on May 1, 1997 and we've been adding the others over the years. We even have a little repeater station on top of St. John's Hospital in Springfield," Holman said.

Holman added that people from the Springfield diocese might be particularly interested in hearing Bishop George J. Lucas' Catholic Times column "Grace and Mercy" which is broadcast three times a week and Tom Shrewsbury's program Reflections which can be heard twice weekly. Bishop Lucas can be heard at 10 a.m. on Mondays, 4 p.m. on Thursdays and at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Shrewsbury's program runs at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays and 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Other programming includes Catholic Mass, the rosary, Stations of the Cross and the national program Catholic Answers. "We actually have three different live call-in shows that run Monday through Friday," Holman said.
