QUINCY — On Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order is sponsoring a Day of Reflection at St. Francis Solanus Parish Center, west of 18th and Elm streets in Quincy. The theme for the day is "In Touch with God: Three Ideas from St. Francis."

Participants will be challenged by the trinity of St. Francis' theology and hear some suggestions on how these ideas can be applied to daily living in the modern world. They also will be invited to join in discussion groups. There is no charge for the event and a lunch will be served.

The Day of Reflection is sponsored during the Year of Consecrated Life to allow participants to become more aware of the Franciscan charism in the Catholic Church and especially Secular Franciscan charism as a part of the family of the Franciscan Order. Participants can also get more information about the Secular Franciscan Order during the event.

Participants will be invited to attend the 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Francis Solanus Church. They are also invited to join a Transitus Service, the celebration of St. Francis' passing from this life, at 7 p.m. in the Quincy University Chapel.
