St. Teresa offers six-week foreign language courses

DECATUR — The Foreign Language/Culture Club (FLCC) at St. Teresa High School will offer six‑week courses in Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL) for children 7-12 years, preschoolers and adults throughout the 2007-2008 school year. Classes will be held on Saturdays in first floor classrooms at St. Teresa, and will be taught by Kathleen Lassau, FLCC advisor, and several club members. The cost is $60 per six-week session, with $30 of that due as a non-refundable fee at the time of registration, and the remainder due the first day of class.

Six-week sessions will run Nov. 3‑Dec. 12 (skipping Saturday, Nov. 24); Jan. 19‑Feb. 23, and April 5‑May 10.

Students in Spanish for 7- to 12-year-olds can choose either a 9 to 10 a.m., or a 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. class. The preschool to age 6 class is also from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The ESL class (9 to 10 a.m.), is geared for adults who have never had formal English lessons.

All classes are limited to 10 students.

To register, send participant’s full name, parent or guardian of participant (if under the age of 18), and contact information, including telephone number(s), home address, and $30 non-refundable registration fee as a check made payable to St. Teresa H.S. Money raised from the courses will benefit St. Teresa FLCC members for foreign-culture related trips and cultural events.
