QUINCY — The Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools Foundation is now accepting applications for two scholarships that will be available for the 2016-2017 school year: the Newcomer’s Scholarship and the Father Augustus Tolton Scholarship.

QUINCY — The Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools Foundation is now accepting applications for two scholarships that will be available for the 2016-2017 school year: the Newcomer’s Scholarship and the Father Augustus Tolton Scholarship.

The Newcomer’s Scholarship is a partially need-based full-tuition scholarship that is awarded annually to one student in grades K-8, either Catholic or of another faith, whose family currently does not have any children enrolled in one of Quincy’s four Catholic elementary schools.

The Tolton Scholarship is a need-based full tuition scholarship that is awarded to one family from each of Quincy’s four Catholic parishes: Blessed Sacrament, St. Anthony, St. Francis and St. Peter. Current QCES families, as well as those families whose children are actively participating in their respective Parish School of Religion (PSR) program, are eligible to apply for the Tolton Scholarship. The scholarship provides full tuition for each child in the family from each parish that is selected to receive the scholarship. The scholarship is renewable until all school-aged children in the family graduate from eighth grade, provided the family continues to meet all eligibility requirements. Scholarship applicants need to annually complete a scholarship application.

As part of the process for both the Newcomer’s and Father Tolton scholarships, applicants must also submit the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application form by Thursday, March 31, 2016. The scholarship packets and application forms are available in the office of each of the four Quincy Catholic elementary schools, or on each elementary school’s website, and on the QCES website, www.quincycatholicschools.org.
