The Cathedral Council of Catholic Women in Springfield honored 27 members for their many years of service to the organization and parish following Mass on March 5 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Angela Vincent, CCCW president, said the “Women of Grace” event was long overdue recognition of the service, leadership, evangelization and spiritual growth provided by women of Cathedral Parish during the council’s 92 years in existence.
“A woman of grace prays for those in need, she gives of her time without thought, shares her love of God with others and she continues to love and grow in her own faith,” said Vincent in her summation of the council’s mission.
Women of Grace honored by the CCCW included Carol Andrews, Jean Berthold, Joan Buck, Connie Bussard, Helen Call, Susan Coombe, Marguarite “Mickie” Culton, Lorraine Fleck, Carol Gilbert, Patricia Gollon, Rita Greenwald, Helen Guernsey, Patricia Hayes, Agnes Hayner, Margaret Herman, Barbara McGrath, Suzanna Merrick, Carol Morgan, Judy O’Shea, Mary Priester, Eleanor Ryan, Jane Sordyl, Jean Staab, Judith Standerfer, Mamie Unser, Sue Warner and Madonna White.
