Adult enrichment courses scheduled throughout diocese

The Office for Catechesis of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, in conjunction with local parishes, is pleased to offer faith formation courses for adults in locations across the diocese. These courses, which are open to everyone, are designed to help Catholics grow in their faith, respond to questions about the church, and make faith-filled decisions in their lives.

Catechists and Catholic school teachers may also attend these classes for credit in the diocesan catechist formation process. All catechists and teachers are required to engage in ongoing learning in order to be more effective communicators of the Gospel to those to whom they are called to minister.

“Formation is one of the pillars of effective parish stewardship and discipleship,” said Christine Malmevik, director of the Office for Catechesis. “By nurturing our understanding of our Catholic faith we draw closer to Jesus Christ and grow in our lives as stewards.”

Flyers of courses offered in each deanery will be emailed to pastors, DREs/CREs and principals. Please call the contact names in the schedule to register or ask for a flyer from your pastor, DRE/CRE or principal.

More information about adult formation opportunities is available at www.dio.org/catechesis.
