The Young Catholic Musicians, a group of singers and musicians from the St. Louis metropolitan area, will perform a concert and lead the music at Masses Jan. 5 and 6 at St. Joseph Church, 1345 N. Sixth Street, Springfield.

The choir/orchestra includes singers and instrumentalists ranging in age from 11 to 20 years old who learn and perform liturgical music for Mass at various churches each month. The group performs two concerts each year including a Christmas concert of sacred music and a spring concert featuring popular and patriotic music. The Christmas concert is followed by a weekend tour in January.

The Young Catholic Musicians will perform at 3:15 p.m. prior to the 4:30 Mass on Jan. 5, at St. Joseph Church and provide music during the 4:30 p.m. Mass and at the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Jan. 6.
