The Office for Vocations of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois will host a “Thinking of Priesthood” day for men, ages 18-30 on Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Villa Maria Retreat and Conference Center in Springfield.

“Seniors in high school are also welcome and encouraged to attend,” said seminarian Zachary Samples who is assisting in organizing the event.

Samples said it is an opportunity for those seeking to learn more about discerning a call to the priesthood. Father Jonathan Fassero, OSB, a monk at Saint Meinrad Archabbey and a spiritual director at both Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary and Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology will be the presenter. Father Jonathan has worked in priestly formation for over 40 years. The day of reflection will include Mass, presentations on priesthood and the opportunity to meet with priests and seminarians.
