GODFREY - The familiar introduction to Saturday Night Live is the loose theme of this year's trivia night to benefit St. Ambrose School in Godfrey. The event, sponsored by the St. Ambrose Parents Association, will be held in the school gym on Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

Cost is $15 per person, with a minimum of four people per table and maximum of eight.

"SNL might very well work its way into the night at some point, but it was more about a catchy slogan to catch attention," said Mark Ellebracht, co-chair of the event.  "Trivia nights should be about having fun, and I think we have a nice variety of categories for almost everyone to take part. If you watch TV or movies, listen to music, eat food, or are in tune to the world around you - at least a little - I think you'll have a good time."

Categories will cover most of the traditional areas like sports, music, history and the entertainment world, along with a few surprises along the way. "It's not the SAT or ACT, it's a trivia night," said Ellebracht. "We'd love to have people come that have never done a trivia night before and see what it's like. At the very least, it's a great way to support the school, but it's also a fun night out." The parents association uses the money raised throughout the year to pay for various items or programs for the pre-K-8 school.

Admission includes drinks and popcorn, and participants can also bring their own. There will be door prizes, a 50-50 drawing, mulligan sale, and other games played throughout the night. The top two teams will win cash prizes. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., game begins at 7. March 13 is the deadline to sign up a team, by calling (618) 465-2873 or e-mail .
