EFFINGHAM — St. Anthony of Padua Parish will host a parish mission March 8 to 13 given by Father Kristopher McKusky, a priest of the Diocese of Duluth, Minn.

Father McKusky will preach each evening at 7, and a reception will follow in the parish center at 8 p.m. The first two evenings of the mission will focus on the Sacrament of Penance, at which people confess their sins to the Lord and are reconciled with him. The remaining three evenings will be devoted to the Mass and the Holy Eucharist, by which people are nourished by the Lord Jesus himself.

Exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held all day Monday, March 9.

The parish mission is aimed at gaining a greater understanding, appreciation and love of the sacraments of penance and Eucharist that strength and renew promises made and received in baptism that were so dear to the parish patron saint, St. Anthony of Padua.
