The Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield will celebrate 30 years of service at its annual spring luncheon on Monday, April 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northfield Inn. Tickets are $25, which includes a silent auction and an education program. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the silent auction.

"We've made some changes in our luncheon format to accommodate our busy friends and donors," said Carol Morgan, the center's executive director. "This year we are focusing on an educational program and a silent auction to make the most of our time together."

Since the Pregnancy Care Center was started in 1978, the organization has evolved to meet the needs of nearly 9,000 women as they have sought healthy pregnancies. In the early years, most of the center's clients were young, single mothers. Today the majority of the center's clients are married, working women, in their 20s and 30s, who are uninsured or under insured.

The program will include a mother representative from each of the decades, giving a personal account of the impact the existence of the Care Center had in her life.

"We're asking people who are unable to attend to consider making a donation or providing an item for the silent auction. Every dollar makes a difference to those in need of prenatal care in our community," Morgan said. "Your gift today will help support our free prenatal care, counseling and parenting programs, impacting women, babies and families."

All seats for the spring luncheon are reserved, with eight seats to a table. The reservation deadline is April 2.
