Annual women’s retreat to be held April 26

Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will present its fourth annual women's retreat, sponsored by the parish Moments for Moms Ministry. This event, entitled "Blessed Art Thou: God's Amazing Grace" is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the parish center.

COLLINSVILLE - Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will present its fourth annual women's retreat, sponsored by the parish Moments for Moms Ministry. This event, entitled "Blessed Art Thou: God's Amazing Grace" is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the parish center.

Sister Therese Ann Kiefer, ASC, Paula Mattix-Wand and a "mystery speaker" will address the effects of God's grace. Sister Therese is a retreat and spiritual director and a graduate of Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. Mattix-Wand is former director of religious education at Ss. Peter and Paul and present campus minister at Marquette High School in Alton.

The day will begin with registration and breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. The $12 registration fee will cover the participant's breakfast, lunch and access to speakers and booths with vendors displaying and selling products. Those planning to attend must pre-register by April 11 in order to receive lunch, catered by Renee's in Collinsville.

Attendance prizes donated by vendors and local businesses will be awarded throughout the day. The event will end with the drawing for the grand attendance prize - valued at $250 - a Wine Country Getaway, which includes a two-night stay at Lydia Johnson's Bed and Breakfast and a $50 gift certificate to the Vintage Restaurant at Stone Hill Winery in Hermann, Mo. The winner must be present to receive her prize.

All women of the community and surrounding churches are invited to attend to take part in the music, prayer, inspirational talks, luncheon and community fellowship. Shopping will be available for jewelry, cosmetics, books, products that pamper, and gifts for Mother's Day, graduation, confirmation and first Communion.
