Bishop George J. Lucas has received a letter from Archbishop Pietro Sambi, apostolic nuncio to the United States, expressing his appreciation for the diocesan contribution of $98,900 to the Peter's Pence collection.

The annual Peter's Pence collection supports the humanitarian and social development work of Pope Benedict XVI.

"May God, who is infinitely generous, reward you and continue to bless you and the faithful under your pastoral care," Archbishop Sambi wrote.
