Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield has announced it once again this summer will hold Summer Escape, a middle school summer enrichment camp.
Summer Escape is open to all students entering grades 5-8 for the 2009-2010 school year. The camp will be held from June 22-26. Session times are from 8-10 a.m., 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Cost is $80 per session and includes a T-shirt. Registration deadline is Friday, June 5.
Classes will be taught by teachers and professionals from SHG, Lanphier, Lutheran High, Sylvan Learning Center, Little Flower Grade School and Body Symmetry in a safe and supervised environment. This is the fifth year for SHG's Summer Escape.
Some of this year's classes include recycled art, animation, fashion, newspaper, around the world, French, kitchen chemistry, outdoor adventure, PhotoShop and fantasy literature. A social and open house will be held for all students and their parents on June 26 from 3-4 p.m. Students will showcase their talents and art from the week.
SHG will also host basketball, football, cheerleading, pom pon, volleyball and softball camps throughout the summer and the school year for various age levels.
