Priests in the Springfield diocese will gather with Bishop George J. Lucas for their annual Priests Jubilee Celebration on Tuesday, May 5, at St. Joseph Parish, Chatham. Seven priests are celebrating their golden jubilees; three priests are celebrating their silver jubilees, and seven priests, are celebrating their 60th jubilee.

The celebration will begin at 3 p.m. with a presentation given by Father Randy Soto, associate professor of sacred Scripture: New Testament at Kenrick School of Theology.

Solemn evening prayer and a dinner will follow.

Golden jubilarians are Fathers Roy R. Bauer, Bernard A. Meyer, J. Michael Ewert, OFM, Zachary Hayes, OFM, Theodosius Schelich, OFM, John Sullivan, OFM, and Eugene Weitzel, CSV.

Silver jubilarians are: Fathers Robert J. Jallas and Stephen J. Pohlman and Msgr. Kenneth C. Steffen.

Celebrating their 60th anniversary of ordination are: Fathers Robert L. Heintz, Joseph F. O'Reilly, Irenaeus Kimminau, OFM, Victor Kingery, OFM, John Ostdiek, OFM, Frederick Schneider, OFM and Melchior Toczek, OFM.
