60 Years ~ Sister Marguerite, Luddon, CDP
Sister Marguerite Luddon, CDP, is celebrating 60 years as a member of the Sisters of Divine Providence. She was born in Venice in the Springfield diocese, with a home parish of St. Mark there. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence in St. Louis in 1949. The former Sister Mary Laurence took final vows in 1956. She earned a bachelor of arts in education from Harris Teachers College in 1972.
Sister Margie served as a cook at St. Mary's Convent in Madison in 1955 and again in 1957, before beginning a teaching career that has spanned more than 50 years, from 1958 to the present. With teaching credits in Missouri and Illinois, her longest tenure was at North American Martyrs School in Florissant, Mo., from 1972 to 1995.
Sister Margie has served Sacred Heart Parish in Florissant, Mo., for many years, first as a teacher, now as a parish school of religion instructor. She also distributes the Eucharist to the sick in her parish and ministers as a substitute teacher at various schools in North St. Louis County.
