Two SHG students receive appointments to West Point

Christian “Chris” Ryan and Thomas “T.J.” Rowe, both seniors at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, have received appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

T.J. is the son of Goebel and Carol Rowe of Pleasant Plains. During his time at SHG, he has been an active member of the varsity soccer team and was also awarded CS8 All-Conference for soccer. He plans to study engineering and continue to play soccer during his time at West Point.

Chris Ryan is the son of Michael and Paula Ryan of Springfield. As a member of the Student Ambassadors Program, Political Action Committee, Student Environmental Awareness Club, and the varsity swimming, diving and cross country teams, he has been an active student at SHG. He also was awarded CS8 All Conference for swimming and diving. He plans to study business and eventually enter into a full military career and/or politics in the future. He may also participate in swimming or track while at West Point.
