She was the daughter of the late John and Alda Thiel of Tipton, Mo.  Sister Geraldine entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on Oct. 31, 1948.  She was preceded in death by her brother Clarence and is survived by her sister-in-law, Noretta of Kansas City, Mo.  Sister Geraldine was an educator and health care professional for many years.

The funeral Mass was May 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alton.
